TEACHING
One Day Coloured Pencil Workshops
This series of workshops begins with the basics of coloured pencil
techniques and then gives students the opportunity to work on projects,
to try out different surfaces and “paintings”. Each day is filled with
exercises, tips and demonstrations that build and expand on the previous class.
Lots of fun and laughter makes that creative process a great learning experience.
The cost of each workshop is $65, which includes paper, coffee, tea and snacks.
Most classes are held on Saturdays and spaces are limited, so register
early to confirm your spot.
The artist welcomes you to her bright and whimsical in-house classroom, located at:
40 Drainie Drive Kanata, ON K2L 1K9 613-592-6959
The Winter 2009 schedule will be posted soon.

Allison has been a guest artist in Ottawa area schools since the early 90’s
and she has been giving adult workshops since 1996 . She is available
to teach children from the junior level (grade 4) up to high school age.
Her instructions in coloured pencil techniques are a valuable tool for
teachers as well. Allison has conducted classes with educators during
professional development days as well as after-school workshops.
Allison
provides step-by-step instruction for simple yet effective techniques that
allow both teachers and students to have exciting results in a short period
of time. In her school workshops, she includes additional lessons as
follow-up classes to reinforce the skills learned.
In 2004 she was
nominated for the YMCA-YWCA Women of Distinction Awards in the category of
Learning for Life. She counts among her successful students Ottawa Carleton
Catholic School Board Director of Education Jamie McCracken; student
Audric Montuno, winner of the Mayor’s Award for Young at Art 2005; and
lots of Grade 5 boys with poor motor skills who, for the first time their
lives, have successfully made a snake look shiny!
